Facebook are Playing with My Head

Last week I blogged about my “delete” experience on Facebook. I felt like my little black book had been stolen from my bag. I had a page with well over 1000 friends on it - and Facebook got out of bed (on the wrong side) and decided to delete my page without a freckle of warning. I got really mad about it. I had done nothing wrong. Nothing rude was on my page - I could see no reason for the page delete. In defense of their actions I took to my keyboard and sent them a polite and pleading note, asking them to re-instate my beloved Facebook page and a request for reason as to why my page was wiped. I resigned to the belief that there would be no way I would hear back from the ethos of Facebook - I mean, I’m just one of many millions - and as if they cared enough to explain themselves. I sent, re-sent and sent again my e-mail to Mr. Facebook (three times in total). I went about creating a new page and going through friends profiles to try and locate my contacts. I spent nearly all of Friday night and Saturday day re-adding my contacts to my new page. As of yesterday I got up to finding about 500 friends back to my new page. This week I was feeling like I was getting some of my “online life” back, tailoring my Facebook page back to “Me”. This morning I got out of bed and switched on my MacBook notebook and sucked through new e-mails. I near fell off my chair to see an e-mail had come from Facebook. The e-mail read … “Hi Duncan, Your account has been reactivated and you should be able to access it now. Sorry for the inconvenience and delay. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for contacting Facebook, Amit - User Operations - Facebook.” Wow-wee. I was excited. I now have access back to my Happy Guru fan page on Facebook and all my videos and photos. I have all my friends back! This is a good day. So what do I do now with 2 Facebook pages. I’m a nice enough Duncan Carey for there to be 2 of us in the world - the same - but having 2 Facebook pages is silly. So now I am off to delete the new page. People (friends) must think I’m on some hard-core drugs or something. I disappear then reappear on a new page then the old page reappear and then the new page disappears. Work that out! Anyway, it’s great to have my page back. My persistence paid off after all. This blog post gets fed through to my Facebook page so hopefully friends on the pages will be put in the picture with what went on here with my profiles. Ok - as usual I’ve wasted enough time already today focused on fun and Facebook, so I best get into my Guru Ambition and get back to business. Thanks for reading and have a beaut day. This blog was brought to you by www.happyguru.com - Love to you all, Duncan. :-)
