Blogs And Jogs Are 2 Different Things

November 29th, 2007

What the hell is a Blog my Dad said.A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) and are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts.

Today is Remembrance Day, or Armistice Day, in many parts of the globe. It is, of course, the anniversary of the end of World War I. In November 1997, then Australian Governor-General Sir William Deane formally proclaimed November 11 Remembrance Day and urged all Australians to observe one minute’s silence at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month each year to remember those who died or suffered for Australia’s cause in all wars and armed conflicts. While Remembrance Day is thus observed in Australia, the equivalent day in Australia (and New Zealand) is actually Anzac Day on April 25 each year. Today’s Podcast was recorded standing on top of a milk crate, looking over the back fence. You’ll find out why in the show. I hope you enjoy this podcast brought to you by Duncan and www.happyguru.com. Peace To The Global Village.

Why Use Incense

November 10th, 2007

Pleasant fragrances make a person more active and feel more alive and in touch with themselves. Incense assist in reducing stress, alleviating mental fatigue and can give feelings of courage, inspiration and peace of mind. Nature has gifted the sense of smell to us to get the benefits and pleasure of its own kind. Incense fill your life and envoirment with a lovely fragrance.Incense have been around since the beginning of time. It is most likely that with the discovery of fire, scraps of resinous wood were tossed upon the flames, causing a remarkable fragrance to rise with themystic smoke. Around the campfire, shoulders relaxed, voices softened, all was calm and safe. Humankind had discovered the power of fragrant smoke, or incense. Throughout the ages, incense have been associated with spirituality and to used widely to transmit purity in life through enchanted fragrances.Since ancient times in India, aromatic wood, leaves, roots etc were burnt in the sacred fire during religious rituals. These natural materials purified the air before important religious rituals, these incenses also prepare the mind to commune with the Gods.

Take Action: Stop The Japanese Dolphin Hunt

November 8th, 2007

Beware - This attachd video can be offensive and upsetting to some folks.

From October to April, Japanese fishermen will kill more than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises as part of their annual hunt. Officials claim the slaughter is a form of “pest control” to offset the amount of fish the dolphins eat. But, the reality is, the butchered dolphins are sold off to supermarkets and grocery stores.

Japanese fishermen have admitted that they are worried the government will soon shut them down in light of international outrage over the hunt. Contact the Japanese Embassy today and tell Japan to stop the slaughter.
